What to wear to work coming into Spring
It’s definitely starting to feel like we’re coming to the end of Winter (finally) and moving into brighter, warmer days. Soon, we’ll be saying goodbye to layers, longline coats and scarves and packing them all away for another year.
I’ve always found it much more difficult to dress for work in Spring/Summer than in Autumn/Winter. Blazers, trousers, longline coats and boots are both weather appropriate and work appropriate. You don’t have to put much thought into whether it’s work appropriate or not. Spring/Summer clothing is a bit different.
I’ve chosen a few essentials that I think would be perfect workwear coming into the warmer months. All capsule wardrobe staples of course - if you’re going to spend money on clothes for work, make sure they go with almost everything.
A Good Blouse
My Ganni Blouse is my go-to top for work in Spring. It’s a statement piece yet it goes with almost everything.
A Graphic T-Shirt
A graphic t-shirt is an essential for your Spring workwear wardrobe. Pair it with jeans and a blazer and you have the perfect Spring outfit!
A Waistcoat
A good waistcoat is a great wardrobe staple for Spring. Throw it on under a blazer with jeans, layer with a long sleeve top or wear by itself.
A Good Quality Shirt
A good quality shirt is an essential for Spring/Summer. I bought this Djerf Avenue Blue Stripe Shirt almost 2 years ago and still wear it all the time.
Ballet Flats
Ballet flats are the perfect shoes for work in the Spring/Summer season. I personally have had these red Ganni ballet flats on my wishlist for months.
A Long Denim Skirt
A long denim skirt is my go-to in Spring/Summer for work. It’s also perfect for days where you are going for after-work drinks, a long denim skirt transitions from a work outfit to a drinks outfit seamlessly.
A Tote Bag
Not that we are biased or anything… But in our opinion, a tote bag is the perfect work bag for Spring/Summer.
