Recipe of the week. Winter Protein Porridge.
With Winter around the corner it’s time to start planning those dark early morning breakfasts. A bowl of porridge to start the day is a great way to get some slow releasing carbs in to aid concentration throughout the morning. The protein in our recipe here also helps to keep you feeling fuller & more satisfied.
Ingrediants
40-50g Oats
1 scoop of whey protein
150ml milk
Half an apple
3 chopped dates
1 tsp peanut butter
Method
Add oats to saucepan, add 150ml milk and leave on a low heat until it starts to bubble.
Take pan off the heat and stir in protein powder, slowly. Add milk or water here if needed.
If you don’t want to use protein powder, you can add 2-3 egg whites or some yogurt to get that protein hit here instead.
Add back to heat and stir for another 1-2 mins max.
Top with apple, dates and nut butter
