How to stay motivated during the winter months.

 

With Winter around the corner, the evenings are getting darker and motivation is dropping. To stay on track during the winter period it’s important to adopt some healthy habits to keep productivity as high as possible.

Below we have shared some advice on how to embrace the winter season and still work to the best of your ability.

  1. Create a routine

Establish a daily routine that includes regular exercise, work hours and time for relaxation and family time.  A structured routine can help you stay on track even when its dark and gloomy outside. Set reminders to remind yourself to stay hydrated and eat well in your routine, building up these habits will keep you feeling energised and motivated.

 

2. Embrace Natural Daylight

Make the most of the natural daylight that you can Sit near windows when working to maximise exposure to natural light. You can also consider investing in a light therapy lamp to combat seasonal affective disorder.    Exposure to natural daylight helps our bodies produce Vitamin D, which improves sleep patterns and supports us with our ability to focus.

 

3. Seek Inspiration & Stay Creative

Read books, watch documentaries or engage in activities that inspire you, whatever that may be. Surrounding yourself with inspiration can reignite your motivation. Staying socially connected, even if its through a virtual means, can help combat any feelings of low motivation.
