How to Juggle Work and Personal Life as a Business Owner.

Work life balance is a phrase we hear a lot. However, we rarely flesh out what that actually means.

Below we have shared some advice on how to achieve a work life balance, particularly if you are a business owner.

  1. Use Technology Wisely

Utilise productivity apps and tools to streamline tasks and automate processes. Manage emails and notifications effectively to avoid constant distraction. Open one tab at a time, dont try and approach everything at once, technology is there to help you but can be overwhelming if you have multiple platforms open at once.

2. Build a support system

Lean on friends, family and mentors for emotional support and guidance. Consider joining business owner networks or associations for peer support. Develop relationships with similar people who can act as thinking partners and provide you with tangible advice on how to navigate a sensible work life balance.

3. Learn to say no

Avoid overcommitting by learning to say no to additional work or social obligations when necessary. Be realistic about what you can handle at any given time. Saying no can be the most productive outcome if you are not in a headspace to commit to a project and deliver it to the best of your ability.
